lists: a year in film – my favs of 2015

Happy New Years Eve everyone!

Just to close off the year, I’d like to compile this list of my favourite films that I’ve watched in theatres this year.

Keep in mind that I haven’t seen everything yet (aka Star Wars).

  2. The Danish Girl (2015)
    Director: Tom Hooper
    Starring: Eddie Redmayne, Alicia Vikander
    A fictitious love story inspired by the lives of Danish artists Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener. Lili and Gerda’s marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili’s groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer. (IMDB)
  3. Spotlight (2015)
    Director: Tom McCarthy
    Starring: Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Rachel McAdams
    The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core. (IMDB)
  4. Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
    Director: George Miller
    Starring: Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult
    A woman rebels against a tyrannical ruler in post apocalyptic Australia in search for her homeland with the help of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic worshiper, and a drifter named Max. (IMDB)
  5. The Revenant (2015)
    Director: Alejandro G. Iñárritu
    Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Will Poulter
    A frontiersman named Hugh Glass on an fur trade expedition in the 1820s is on a quest for survival after being brutally mauled by a bear. (IMDB)
