review: finding dory (2016)

OVERALL IMPRESSION: 9.8/10

ACTING: 10/10
CINEMATOGRAPHY: 8/10
NARRATIVE/SCREENPLAY: 10/10 *
SCORE: 9/10

REVIEW IN ONE SENTENCE: A perfect balance between a celebration of the first film, and the thrill of a new story.

* 13 years after Finding NemoFinding Dory came into theatres with high expectations – and if definitely does not fail to please. The film gives us a feeling of nostalgia from the first film, and somehow takes us back to our beloved characters to continue their journeys as if not a single day has passed since 2003. With laughs and tears (I sobbed, and I’m not ashamed), and the most ADORABLE little baby Dory you will ever see, Finding Dory is a film you must watch.

** Shout out to Piper, the cutest little short film EVER, screened before the showing of Finding Dory. ALSO, as with most Disney-Pixar movies – remember to stay until the END of the movie, AFTER the credits are done rolling. There is a surprise there waiting for you.
